Member Profile

In this article, we will cover:

Every member who joins your Community has a profile page, and it's where you'll go any time you need to look up what a specific member has done, update their details, or handle a data request.

Finding a member

From the Members list, you can search for a member using the search bar at the top. Click Select Criteria to choose what you want to search by the following:

  • By Name
  • By Email
  • By Id
  • By Zip code
  • By State
  • By Country
  • By Active Status
  • By Badge
  • By Member flags
  • By Mission

Along with several demographic criteria:

  • By Gender
  • By Age
  • By Race
  • By Hispanic
  • By Marital status
  • By Children
  • By Household income

You can also narrow your search to a specific segment using the Group dropdown next to it, which defaults to "All Members." If you need to search by more than one criterion at once, click the + button to add another row, then click Search. Once you've found the member you're looking for, click their name to open their profile page.

Member Management

Once you're on a member's profile page, you'll see two tabs, Profile and History, and a row of actions in the top right: Redact and Delete, CCPA Export, Deactivate, and Edit.

  • Redact and Delete: permanently removes the member's data.
  • CCPA Export: exports the member's data.
  • Deactivate: deactivates the member's account.  The member will still receive emails from time to time to invite them to come back dependant on what you choose to send out.
  • Edit: lets you update the member's profile fields by hand, for example if a member calls in and asks you to correct a typo in their name or update their address.

Please be aware that Redact and Delete, CCPA Export, and Deactivate all affect the member's real account and data, so use them deliberately rather than for routine account changes.

Person & Family details

The Person & Family panel holds the core identity information you collect from a member, either at sign-up or through a profile survey. Depending on how your Community is configured, you might see:

  • Member ID: a unique number assigned to the member when they join. You'll use this if you ever need to reference a specific member with Technical Support.
  • Gender, Birthday, Age: demographic fields. These show "Not Specified" or "n/a" if a member hasn't provided them, either because your Community isn't asking for them at sign-up, or because the member simply hasn't filled in or updated that section of their profile yet.
  • Spanish, Hispanic, or Latino origin/descent and Race: optional self-identification fields. A member can choose "I Prefer Not to specify" rather than answer.
  • Marital status and Children count: household composition fields, again optional.
  • Household income: an optional income bracket a member can choose to share.
  • Joined date: the exact date and time the member's account was created.

If most of these fields show "Not Specified," it doesn't mean something's broken. It usually comes down to one of two things: either your Community isn't asking for that field yet, or the member just hasn't gone back to fill it in or update it. Whether you collect this data at all comes down to how your sign-up flow and surveys are set up.

Shipping address

This panel shows the shipping address on file for the member, along with a confirmation status. An address marked Unconfirmed means the member hasn't verified it yet, so you may want to reach out before relying on it to fulfill a physical reward.

Member flags

Member Flags surface any special markers attached to a member's account. If a member has no flags set, this panel simply appears empty.

Social channels

The Social Channels panel shows which platforms a member has linked to their profile, and their follower counts on the platforms that report them:

  • Email: the member's registered email address.
  • Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok: shown as "n/a" if the member hasn't connected that platform.
  • Threads, Pinterest: shown as Connected once linked, with a follower count underneath.
  • Blog: a member-submitted blog URL, if they've added one.

UTM keys

If a member joined your Community through a tracked link, for example one shared as part of a campaign, the Source, Medium, Campaign, Term, and Content fields here show which UTM parameters were attached to that link. These stay blank for members who joined without one.

  • Source: where the click came from, for example Facebook, Google, or a newsletter.
  • Medium: the type of marketing channel, for example social, email, or CPC.
  • Campaign: the specific marketing initiative, for example a product launch or a seasonal mission.
  • Content: which specific ad or link was clicked, useful for A/B testing.
  • Term: which keyword triggered the click, for paid search.

You can build a UTM link using Google's Campaign URL Builder. This appends the UTM parameters onto the end of your Community's normal URL.

Using UTM links to assign a Group

You can also use a UTM link to automatically assign new members to a specific Group within your Community, for example a group of members joining from a particular email invitation. Here's an example of what that link might look like:

https://example.tintcommunities.com/?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=spring_launch_2026

Within the Group settings in your Community, you'll enter the same UTM key details. These must match exactly what was used when the link was created, or the group assignment won't work.

Formatting requirements

If you're using a UTM link for sign-up, don't include members/sign_in in the URL, as this affects how the data is collected.

For example, avoid a link formatted like this:

https://example.tintcommunities.com/members/sign_in?utm_source=example_source&utm_medium=example_medium&utm_campaign=example_campaign#/

Instead, format it like this:

https://example.tintcommunities.com/?utm_source=example_booth&utm_medium=qr_code&utm_campaign=example_event&utm_id=example_tradeshow

Member history and points

The History tab shows a member's points balance and their activity feed:

  • Total Points and Current Available Points: lifetime points earned versus what the member currently has to redeem.
  • Activity list: each reward or action a member has engaged with, along with the points earned (for example, "5 points of 210") and its status, such as Completed, or Incomplete.

Note: If you are using the Loyalty feature with Community for points, please look at the loyalty member profile under the Transactions for the ledger of all the points. Click here for more information.
